Fr Yon Wiryono, SVD

Fr. Firminus Wiryono, known as Fr Yon, is a member of the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD), Australia Province. He is an Indonesian, born and raised in Flores Island. After completing his initial SVD formation, philosophical & theological study in Indonesia, he was ordained priest on the 10th of October 2015, and was sent to SVD Australia Province for his mission appointment. During his formation years, he spent a year of overseas pastoral training/placement among the Aboriginal Community of Santa Teresa, Alice Springs, Central Australia. 

Since coming to Australia as a religious-missionary priest, he has been working in Parish pastoral ministries such as St. Anthony Parish, Noble Park and Resurrection Parish, Keysborough (Melbourne Archdiocese) for 3 years; serving in St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Marsden, Brisbane Archdiocese for a year; and serving in a countryside parish of St. Patrick’s Emerald, under the diocese of Rockhampton, North QLD for 3 years. Since 2023 till now, he has been serving as co-formator at SVD seminary, DMC - Box Hill, Vic; director for Overseas Training Program for overseas seminarians; and Vocation Director for Australia Province. A part from his main activities in formation ministry, Fr Yon is also a certified spiritual director; interested in the area of spirituality and youth ministry.
